Wes Spang, PhD, PE, GE

Principal

Wes joined GRI in 2013, he has a PhD in Geotechnical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and Masters Degree in Geotechnical Engineering from Purdue University. As a principal engineer, he is responsible for technical review and guidance of projects, client interaction and management, and staff development. He has extensive experience in in-situ testing and geotechnical earthquake engineering. 

What interests you most about geotechnical engineering?
The variability of soil and geologic conditions which require judgement in developing geotechnical engineering solutions. 

What is your favorite thing about working at GRI?
Relationships and camaraderie with co workers.

An interesting fact about yourself:
Played second base on the high school baseball team that went to State Finals two years in a row (lost both times).
