Scott Schlechter joined GRI in 2000 after finishing his Masters degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering at Oregon State University. As the President and Principal Engineer for the firm, he is responsible for providing both internal firm leadership and oversight and review of technical projects. Scott has focused his career on challenging seismically focused soil-structure interaction projects, deep foundation design, and ground improvement. His seismic design and resiliency efforts have focused on the challenges associated with integrating the varying performance requirements and design standards for intermodal or similar projects that involve waterfront structures, building, and transportation projects. Scott serves on the national ASCE Coast, Oceans, Ports, and Rivers Institute committee.
