Darlene Verduzco, GIT
Staff Geologist
Darlene joined GRI in 2023 while finishing her Masters in Geology at Portland State University. As Geology Staff she is responsible for completing subsurface investigations, conducting laboratory testing of soil and rock, and providing construction observation services. She has a background in geochemistry and petrology, specifically focused on monogenetic volcanism.
What interests you most about geotechnical engineering?
The opportunity to use science to improve and invest into my community.
Favorite meal?
A good steak, or maybe my mother-in-law’s homemade tamales.
Favorite activity outside of work?
Cooking, gardening, hiking, reading, table top games.
