Colin Hennessey

Field Specialist

Colin joined GRI full time in 2023 following his internship the previous year. He is a Portland State graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. As a Field Specialist, he is responsible for providing construction observation services, completing subsurface investigations, and conducting laboratory testing and identification of soil and rock.

What interests you most about geotechnical engineering?
With geotechnical engineering being a relatively young branch of civil engineering, you get to see and be a part of the evolution of the discipline.

Favorite meal?
Prime Rib medium-rare with horseradish, side of asparagus, with ice water and a cold IPA.

Favorite activity outside of work?
I’m an avid cyclist! I love to ride recreationally as well as competitively in Cyclocross, Enduro, and Downhill races.
