Scott Schlechter, PE, GE, D.PE

Scott has over 20 years of experience completing a wide range of geotechnical studies that have focused on bridges, pedestrian boardwalks, and retaining walls; highway bridges and retaining structures, roadways, landslides, reservoirs, pump stations, deep excavations and dewatering, and waterfront terminals. Scott has focused his career on the seismic design aspects of intermodal facilities with challenging soil-structure interaction; deep foundation design; and ground improvement considerations.

Why Scott for the Interstate Bridge Replacement?

Scott has led over 250 geotechnical projects while at GRI and provides project-specific knowledge and problem solving skills to take a project from inception through successful project completion. Scott will use his specialized experience with ground improvement and seismic design mitigation to oversee project design and identify a critical path for a reliable and practical approach to the Interstate Bridge Replacement. In the past few years, Scott has developed multi-faceted approach to projects from both the owner and designer perspective from his experience working on Earthquake Ready Burnside Bridge (Multnomah County) and Interstate 5 Rose Quarter Improvement Project (ODOT).
