Tigard-Tualatin School District, GO Bond Program
The Tigard-Tualatin School District completed several capital improvement projects that were passed as part of a 2016 levy. The school projects under this Bond Program included:
Fowler Middle School: GRI completed a geotechnical investigation for the remodel and maintenance work to the Front Entry/Office, Science Classroom, Woodshop, Choir Room, and portions of the roofing system. The foundation of the school site was also upgraded to support the new structural loads from the remodel.
Twality Middle School: Geotechnical investigation for the demolition and rebuild of the majority of Twality Middle School. As part of the rebuild, GRI completed a site-specific hazard evaluation to satisfy the new structural loads within the building. Additional scope included upgrades to the track and field – the field was replaced with synthetic turf and the track was resurfaced with a rubberized material.
Templeton Elementary School: Geotechnical investigation for the demolition and rebuild of the entire Templeton Elementary School. A site-specific seismic hazard study was completed for the newly constructed elementary school.
Tualatin High School: GRI completed a geotechnical investigation for building additions and remodeling – work included the addition of technical education classrooms, locker and training rooms, a commons area, an administration and lobby area, additional classrooms, and a fitness area. Additional work included the replacement of three sports fields with synthetic turf.
Tigard High School: GRI completed a geotechnical investigation and site-specific hazard evaluation for the demolition and rebuild of portions of Tigard High School. Additionally, GRI provided construction observation services for the new baseball field to evaluate conformance with the plans and specifications.
Durham Education Center School: Geotechnical investigation services for a new school and parking lot.
Hazelbrook Middle School: Geotechnical consultation for the design of asphalt concrete pavement improvements and improvements to the athletic facilities. GRI evaluated existing pavement and soil conditions in the bus loop and parking area and developed recommendations for pavement rehabilitation or replacement.
Edward Byrom Elementary School: Geotechnical consultation for design of hardscape pavement areas. GRI evaluated the existing pavement and soil conditions to develop recommendations for use in the design and construction of the improvements.
Bridgeport Elementary School: Geotechnical consultation for design of hardscape pavement areas. GRI evaluated the existing pavement and soil conditions to develop recommendations for use in the design and construction of the improvements.
Mary Woodward Elementary School: Geotechnical consultation for design of hardscape pavement areas. GRI evaluated the existing pavement and soil conditions to develop recommendations for use in the design and construction of the improvements.
Art Rutkin Elementary School: GRI completed a geotechnical investigation for the construction of the new Art Rutkin Elementary School.
