Portland Air National Guard Base, Special Tactics Complex

GRI completed geotechnical and pavement investigations for the proposed Special Tactics Complex and associated improvements located at the Portland Air National Guard (PANG) Base at Portland International Airport (PDX) in Portland, Oregon. The purpose of our investigation and geotechnical analyses was to evaluate subsurface conditions at the site and develop conclusions and recommendations regarding foundation support, seismic design, site preparation and earthwork, and temporary excavations and shoring for the proposed PANG Special Tactics Complex and associated improvements.
The project scope includes the construction of a centralized Special Tactics Complex for use by the 125th Special Tactics Squadron (STS). Once complete, this building will house facilities for special tactics training and simulation, vehicle maintenance, hazardous material storage, vehicle storage, and warehouse space.
