Tyler Hager joined GRI in 2022 after finishing his Bachelors in Civil Engineering. As a Staff Engineer, he will work under the close direction of a senior geologist, engineer, or principal and is responsible for completing subsurface investigations, conducting laboratory testing of soil and rock, performing engineering analyses, and providing construction observation services. Tyler previously worked in ODOT’s Graduate Engineer program, and has experience in drilled shaft inspection, rockfall mitigation, and contaminated site cleanup.
What interests you most about geotechnical engineering?:
All of the unknowns involved make each project unique and exciting. I also think geotechnical engineering is important to creating more sustainable and resilient structures for the future.
Favorite activity outside of work?:
Snowboarding, hiking, cooking.
