Billing Clerk

GRI is seeking a Billing Clerk to join our team of professionals in our Tigard, Oregon, office.

As a Billing Clerk at GRI, you’ll provide support to our Accounting/Finance group and Project Managers.  You’ll work with Project Managers and Principals to assist in tracking project financial components including billings, budgeting and costs.

This position is eligible for hybrid work schedule, based in either our Tigard or Vancouver office. We would like to fill this role immediately. This position is full-time with full benefits. Essential Duties & Core Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Project Managers and Principals to ensure an accurate, timely and consistent billing cycle
  • Assist in project setup ensuring the accuracy of both financial and nonfinancial project information entered in the Ajera software
  • Monitor accounts receivable and work in process aging and assist Project Managers as needed with collection efforts
  • Proactively recommend suggestions for process improvement in areas of the billing or project management

Successful Candidates:

  • Bring 3-5 years of Project Accounting experience, with preference given to applicants who have professional services accounting or AEC accounting experience.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrate a readiness to learn and jump in with both feet.
  • Demonstrate time management skills and ability to prioritize time/focus when working on tasks assigned by multiple people.
  • Be a proficient user in Microsoft Office applications. Competency in Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam Revu.
  • Have familiarity with general office technology and systems (copy machines, PC/laptops, network connectivity, network licensing).
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. Employer sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of progressively responsible project accounting focused roles in the AEC industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Strong skills in accounting software. Experience with Deltek Ajera a plus.
  • Experience with state and federal agency invoicing requirement.
