Aiman joined GRI’s busy pavement group in May of 2017 after completing his Master’s degree at Oregon State University. His Master’s thesis was focused on improving pavement life by developing new, low-cost technologies and designing quality control and quality assurance procedures. As a member of GRI’s engineering staff, Aiman works under the close direction of a project engineer or principal and is responsible for completing subsurface investigations, conducting laboratory testing of soil and rock, performing pavement condition surveys for roads and airports, backcalulating falling weight deflectometer (FWD) data, and designing pavements using the AASHTO, Asphalt Institute, FAARFIELD, and COMFAA specifications.
