Pringle Creek Community

Pringle Creek Community
Salem, Oregon

The Pringle Creek residential community is a 32-acre sustainable development located at the former Fairview Training Center site in Salem, Oregon. The project received the National Home Builder Association’s prestigious Land Development of the Year award for its state-of-the-art site design and development practices, including the preservation of trees in open spaces and the reuse of pre-existing trees for construction projects within the community, and an innovative stormwater management system utilizing the largest community porous asphalt and concrete road system in North America. As geotechnical engineer for the project, GRI evaluated subsurface materials and conditions at the site and developed recommendations for earthwork and site preparation, foundation and floor support, on-site infiltration of stormwater runoff, and design of pervious asphalt and concrete pavements.
