Couch Street landslide in Camas, Washington, is located on the east flank of Prune Hill, north of NW 22nd Avenue, at the northern end of Couch Street. Ground movements at the site were first noted in December 1996 following an extended period of intense precipitation. GRI reviewed existing information, completed field mapping and exploration of subsurface materials and conditions, installed and monitored inclinometers, and completed a report outlining the project findings. GRI prepared plans, specifications, and cost estimates for remedial measures. Construction was completed during the spring and fall of 1998 and included a network of over 800 ft of subdrains and a rock buttress.
